Well, maybe they’re pro-gun.

But at least the jacket one is funny.  As long as you’re left-handed.

Regardless, great stuff from M. Twohy – who has been doing the Daily Cartoon for the New Yorker website.

Re: the jacket one. As you say, a left-handed jacket and it’s just that the sales guy clearly has it holstered backwards. I doubt he’s a gun guy who understands such things.

I cannot deny that there are times when #2 has been tempting, though it’s been more in regard to a lack of understanding (and thought) on the part of the other party, rather than my own inability to fire off (no pun intended) a snappy comeback….

For those with an aversion to guns, I would suggest that a swichblade knife is very effective in those awkward moments when you can’t muster up a snarky reply to some jackass. The sound of the blade opening works to break that uncomfortable silence. It’s a great conversation ender. Then again, the sound of pulling back the slide on a Glock and letting it snap forward sends an unmistakable message.

Ah, but the butterfly knife is much flashier than an automatic. There’s a great mix of auditory AND visual stimulation to involve your debating partner with! 🙂

But I have to say, no disrespect intended, that the message sent by racking the slide on a Glock is that the pistolero is an idiot – either he’s carrying it with an empty chamber, or he just put a live round on the ground. Neither of which suggests that he’s got much sense…. 😉

Hey, in the comic strip I’m living in, I’m a pacifist so I’m always packing with an empty chamber. I do like the butterfly knife idea, but I’m pretty sure I’d only end up hurting myself with one of those – like the time with the nunchucks.
