TSA’s Sordid Record in a Zippety Chart

This chart nicely illustrates some of the costs of the TSA. I suppose a chart that showed TSA’s full costs would be fairly obscene. But if you have seen such a chart – shoot me a line or post a comment here.

This chart was posted at http://www.onlinecriminaljusticedegree.com/tsa-waste/. I assume they produced the chart – but, again, if I’m wrong, let me know.

Great graphic but the message is muddled by the time it hits the bottom part. The top 9/10ths shows what a hugely ridiculous idea it is to need such extensive “security” measures from a risk analysis perspective, but in the bottom 1/10th it argues for continuing the “security” systems but privatizing them.

That smells really bad, that conclusion.

The better aromas come from the conclusion which says “do away with all of it because the risks are not there.”

Generally though, it emphasizes all the points which suggest the proper conclusion is to disband/dismantle TSA and go back to pre-2001 “security” measures, but it’s awfully hard to put this fat cat back into that little burlap sack eh?

Good point. Maybe I should pop it into PhotoShop and cut off the bottom part.
