Best quote for this week? Lily Tomlin said, “No matter how cynical you get, it is not enough to keep up.”
Deceiving citizens violates voting rights as much as barring people from polling places. https://t.co/yY2kPoOfXt

This post-election vote counting is like extra innings of a baseball playoff game between two teams that both committed endless unforced errors.

Nothing happens after Election Day to compel winning politicians to give a damn about the Constitution. As Senator Bob Kerrey explained, “The problem is, the second your hand comes off the Bible, you become an asshole.” https://t.co/gGXyUTWNFD

Many pundits and professors presume that a Biden victory will magically re-legitimize the American political system. But almost all the problems of recent years will continue or intensify. https://t.co/VIqWb5XECf

Elections usually only reveal comparative contempt for competing professional politicians. The only “mandate” conferred by “lesser evil” votes is for the winning politician to do less evil.

How many anti-Trump votes were spurred by the Deep State's non-stop political conniving since 2016? https://t.co/ZC1oYv0oIi

Previously, election results were often only a one-day snapshot of transient mass delusions. Now they include all the delusions and dreads triggered in the prior 60 days, too.

The more weight that is placed on voting levers, the more likely that the entire political system collapses. People do not acquiesce to contested votes when the winner becomes an elective dictator.
— James Bovard (@JimBovard) November 4, 2020
Vote counts cannot legitimize an Elective Dictator who violates the Constitution.

If Biden wins and imposes a national lockdown, Americans will too late learn that they voted for a Cage Keeper-in-Chief.
— James Bovard (@JimBovard) November 5, 2020
Here's someone who has blind trust in "smart lockdowns." More likely that the U.S. Constitution will be Covid Roadkill https://t.co/vTSEmOsKYW https://t.co/xZPe6uYWlG

Will Biden win after conducting the most fearmongering presidential campaign of modern times? As Coleridge warned in 1830, “In politics, what begins in fear usually ends in folly.”

Is it too late to demand a retraction from all the people & publications who accused me of cynicism since my hitchhiking days? pic.twitter.com/jhpSjOPcAH

20 Years Ago Today: "Voting has changed from a process by which the citizen controls the government to a ritual that consecrates government’s control of the people." https://t.co/u9004N1wco

My Election Day 2000 Oped: "What does a vote mean? Whatever a winning politician says it means. Citizens have almost no control over their rulers after Election Day." https://t.co/u9004N1wco

My 7/28/20 oped: "America could soon see a hundred-times worse replay of the Florida presidential balloting 20 years ago in the Bush-Gore showdown… that could minimize support for whoever is designated the next president." https://t.co/VIqWb5XECf
— James Bovard (@JimBovard) November 4, 2020
Is it too soon to proclaim cynicism the victor of the 2020 election? "Cynicism can be pro-freedom, spurring resistance rather than resignation…. The more cynical Americans become, the less power politicians can seize." https://t.co/0aitOpHGmI

Winning politicians often enjoy a honeymoon after Election Day, but neither Donald Trump nor Joe Biden deserve any honeymoon from cynicism. “Think well of your masters” will be the death of democracy. https://t.co/0aitOpHGmI

My 7/28/20 oped: "The American political system may be on the eve of its worst legitimacy crisis since the Civil War. Early warning signals indicate that many states could suffer catastrophic failures in counting votes in November." https://t.co/VIqWb5XECf

I’m old enough to recall when the media was less dishonest than the political candidates.

Time to push for #peacefulseparation.
The farce is over.
There is nothing to be “united” about except the reality that we are not united and haven’t been since at least 1850.
There is no problem that exists in our nation that government hasn’t either caused or made worse.
There is no way that 50 independent, sovereign states, could do a worse job of protecting and preserving what little liberty or freedom is left, than a continuation of the current federal tyranny. At least there might be a handful that would actually embrace freedom for a change and would actually have the ability to carry it through.
